Got a burning Q you desperately want an A for? What do you know, I’ve got a whole bunch of them for you here!

Where are you based?
I live in Groby, a village in Leicestershire, UK. It looks like it should rhyme with Toby, but it’s actually pronounced like groovy with a b. The more you know!

Did you study photography?
Nope – I’m self-taught. I actually officially studied psychology, and have a masters in applied criminology! Photography was a much-loved hobby until I decided to learn a bit more about my camera and photography. After attending some workshops and getting to know more about the craft, I assisted a wedding photographer and loved it – and the rest, as the cliché says, is history.

Are you insured?
Hell yes: being your photographer is a huge privilege, so I don’t cut corners. Both me and my equipment are fully insured.

We think we’d like to book you for our wedding day. What do we do?!
Amazing news! The first thing to do is revel in your great decision making powers, then once that’s done the next step is to email me to ensure your date is available. My calendar fills up pretty quickly and I always feel so sad whenever I have to turn people away! To confirm your booking, you’ll need to read and sign my Terms of Business and pay a deposit which is 30% of the total amount. My terms are electronic so you don’t have to faff around with stamps and posting, plus you’ll receive a copy of the terms and a payment receipt for the deposit. Then, it’s time to pop a bottle of bubbly or put the kettle on, and have a dance around the kitchen – you’re officially booked in.

How many wedding photos do we get?
For full day coverage, I usually deliver between 500-600 images. These are hand-selected and edited by me, and tell the story of the whole day, so you can feel like you’re reliving it when you look through them.

Do you photograph group shots at weddings?
Your photos will include group shots, should you wish! I advise couples to have no more than 10 combinations to photograph, because it will always take longer than you think! To give you an idea, 10 combinations will take at least 30 minutes to complete.. The more combinations you have, the more time it will take, and then the less time you have to actually spend with your guests, drinking, eating, and dancing. (Group photos also aren’t compulsory – I’ve shot weddings where clients didn’t want to have any, and it’s totally fine!)

Who owns the copyright to your photos?
I retain copyright of the photos, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use them – I want you to feel like you can shout your wedding from the rooftops!

As one of my couples, you’ll get a personal use license, which allows you to get the images printed, share them on social media and make your own albums if they want to. However this license doesn’t cover any commercial use of the images, so if your other wedding suppliers would like to use my images, they can either provide a linked credit to me, or buy them from me. If this is you, then please do holler at me, and we can get it sorted!

How long will it take for me to see my photos?
I’ll send you some previews within one week of your wedding and your gallery will be ready within 6-8 weeks after your wedding. I really care about every photo that I deliver so I take time editing each image to make sure I’m delivering my best.

We’re super awkward in front of the camera, is that OK?
Abso-bloomin’-lutely! Please don’t worry – not least because I’m really relaxed, and at 5’2” couldn’t really be intimidating if I tried. But mainly because it’s my job to make sure you feel comfortable, and that you’re having a fun time in front of the camera. (Like, literally my job. How cool is that?!)

I’m here to capture you as a couple, as you are, so that means no super unnatural poses and no cringey cheesing. It means just being your wonderful, brilliant self, and working together to find the point where you pretty much forget I’m there. While that might not sound feasible at the moment, hopefully you can see from my previous work that it is possible – I don’t work with professional models, so all of my images have been created with real couples just like you.

What’s in your camera bag?
2 Nikon Z6ii cameras
Nikon 24mm 1.4
Sigma 35mm 1.4
Nikon 85mm 1.8 z lens
Holdfast camera straps
Yongnuo and Godox flashes
Lots and lots of batteries and memory cards
Tissues, for when people (read: I) cry at weddings
Snack bar, for when people (read: I) get peckish

Sadly not included in my camera bag; my gorgeous Pomeranian pup, Kenzo, I know, I’m sorry – I’m bummed about that too, but let’s face it: he’d be useless. Cute, but ultimately useless.

Our wedding is a bit further afield – do you travel?
As you might be able to tell by my accent – yes, I do travel! Please do get in touch and let me know what exciting plans and places you’ve got up your sleeve. For weddings further than 40 miles from my home, I do charge a tad extra, and for weddings abroad I ask for my accommodation and travel to be covered. If you let me know where you’re thinking of saying ‘I do’ when you get in touch, I can work out a bespoke quote for you.

What happens if you get ill on our wedding day?
Generally I’m a pretty healthy person and I’ll always do whatever I possibly can to be there for your wedding. However, in the rare event that something has happened, I am a member of two different wedding photography networks that will be able to send a lovely and talented photographer to cover your wedding day.
